Sydney Grace Navy (Deep) Mystery Bag (2022) Review & Swatches

Navy Blue (Deep) Sydney Grace Navy Blue (Deep) Mystery Bag (2022) ($35.00) contained six eyeshadows, one loose eyeshadow, one loose highlighter, one cream eyeshadow, and an empty 9-pan palette (not shown). The only “dud” was the cream eyeshadow, which was more finnicky to work with. The rest of the products were lovely–pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. […]

Sydney Grace Where the Wild Things Grow (Deep) Palette Review & Swatches

Where the Wild Things Grow (Deep) Sydney Grace Where the Wild Things Grow (Deep) 9-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($36.00 for 0.54 oz.) is a new, 9-palette that just launched this past month. All of the eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and easy to use. They performed consistently with Sydney Grace’s eyeshadow formula. This is the Deep version, […]

ColourPop Clay It Cool Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Clay It Cool ColourPop Clay It Cool 10-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($16.00 for 0.49 oz.) is a new, warm-toned neutral palette that included five matte eyeshadows, four shimmer eyeshadows, and one cream eyeshadow. The quality was consistent with past ColourPop eyeshadows; most shades were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with and the downsides were […]

Three of the shades have Light and Deep versions, which I’ve notated below with (“Deep”) and have included side-by-side comparisons. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and […]

Sydney Grace Mountain Trail Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches (2022)

Mountain Trail Sydney Grace Mountain Trail 9-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($33.00 for 0.54 oz.) was originally released as a bundle of single pan eyeshadows, and it’s back in palette-form! I found that eight of the nine shades were as good or slightly improved, while one shade (Escape) seemed to have more shimmer and less of an […]

ColourPop What the Shell Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

ColourPop What the Shell 9-Pan Shadow Palette (Plastic) ($12.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a new, limited edition nine-pan palette that included a mix of powder and cream-to-powder eyeshadows across matte and shimmer finishes. I felt like the quality was lower than is typical for ColourPop, as the mattes were a little more powdery and prone to fallout and the shimmers were harder to use with a dry brush. I Sea U has a sheer base (as intended by the brand) with champagne gold and warmer gold shimmer and sparkle throughout. Sheer pigmentation Smooth but firmly packed into pan Best applied Continue Reading…

Urban Decay Half Baked Mini Naked Palette Review & Swatches

Urban Decay Half Baked Naked Your Way Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($29.00 for 0.12 oz.) includes three matte eyeshadows and three shimmers across a mix of warmer-toned neutrals. The quality was so-so; not the worst, not particularly compelling, and you’ll definitely need to apply all shades over primer. Rollin’ is a light-medium yellow with strong, warm undertones and a barley-there sheen. It was particularly prone to sheering out. Sheer, slightly buildable coverage Somewhat thin, moderately powdery Blendable, prone to sheering out, best with primer Long-wearing (7 to 8 hours typical) Half Baked is a light copper with strong, warm orange undertones Continue Reading…
